Growth Updates 0-8 Weeks
Pregnancy
Rumi's pregnancy went very well, marking a promising milestone as it was her first experience. She handled the changes with grace, clearly enjoying the increased food and attention. We ensured Rumi remained comfortable throughout her pregnancy, providing a cozy environment that supported her well-being. As we look ahead, we are excited to see the beautiful Rottweiler puppies she and Italian Stallion will produce, anticipating the blend of their outstanding traits and temperaments.
Delivery Day
Rumi's delivery day unfolded beautifully, showcasing her resilience and adaptability as a first-time mother. Throughout the process, she remained open to assistance from Angel whenever needed, displaying a calm demeanor that helped set a reassuring tone. Although she initially seemed unsure about how to care for each puppy, it was heartwarming to witness her learning and gaining confidence with every new arrival. The appearance and strength of each puppy give us every indication that this pairing between our exceptional stud, Italian Stallion Von Der Korperkraft, and the stunning Rumi Von Der Korperkraft will yield remarkable results. These Rottweiler puppies exemplify the quality and excellence DKV Rottweilers is known for. They are sure to inherit their father's intelligence, their mother's beauty, and the wonderful temperament shared by both parents.
Week 1 Update
Hello DKV family! The first week after delivery is progressing smoothly for Rumi. She is adjusting well to her role as a mother and is visibly bonding with her six beautiful puppies. Rumi’s nurturing instincts are evident, and she is attentive to their needs, ensuring they receive the care and warmth they require.
Newborn puppies are born both blind and deaf, making their early days crucial for their development. During this initial stage, it is vital that they stay warm and feed consistently every two hours. This frequent nursing is essential for their growth and health, providing them with the nutrients they need to begin their lives.
At DKV Rottweilers, we take this responsibility seriously. Our dedicated breeder, Angel, monitors the litter very closely. He sets his alarm every two hours for the first four days after the puppies are born, ensuring they remain warm and are nursing as they should. This diligence exemplifies the DKV difference, giving our DKV families confidence in the strong foundation we establish for our puppies as they grow.
Week 2 Update
Hello DKV family! Our Rottweiler puppies are now two weeks old and are growing quickly each day. Mama Rumi is doing wonderfully as a mother, demonstrating her nurturing instincts to her precious puppies. She is clearly learning her role, ensuring that each pup receives the warmth and care they need during this critical stage of their development.
The puppies are definitely thriving! They all have good appetites and an overall strong, healthy appearance. It is heartwarming to see them flourish under Rumi's care. Their adorable faces and impressive features are enough to bring a smile to anyone's face. We are just so anxious to see how this impressive combination blossoms in a few week.
At this young age, not much happens in terms of activity. Puppies this age sleep approximately 22-23 hours each day, waking only briefly to nurse. Yep, you read that correctly. LOL. However, an exciting milestone is approaching later this week as the puppies' eyes and ears will start to open. This development will allow them to begin exploring their surroundings and interacting with each other, making the next few days extra exciting.
Week 3 Update
Hello DKV family! Week three has been a wonderful time for our Rocky X Rumi litter of puppies. Rumi, the proud mom, is doing great and continues to adjust to her role as a mother. She's very attentive and seems to absolutely adore her little ones. Rumi is always there to care for them, providing plenty of warmth, comfort, and love. It’s clear to see she’s settling into motherhood beautifully, and her nurturing instincts are kicking in with full force.
The puppies are also doing fantastic! They all have great appetites and are nursing well, gaining weight each day. We are excited to report that their eyes and ears have now opened, which is a significant milestone. It's so special to watch them look back at us, now able to see and hear the world around them. This new stage of development brings a whole new level of interaction, and it's wonderful to see them becoming more aware of their surroundings.
Overall, everything is going smoothly. At this young age, not much happens other than eating and sleeping, but it's all going perfectly. I’ve taken some new photos of the pups, and I hope everyone enjoys them! Rest assured, the puppies are thriving, and Rumi is doing an excellent job caring for them. All is well in our little puppy world!
Week 4 Update
Hello, DKV family! The puppies are now four weeks old, and they are thriving! Mama Rumi continues to do an amazing job taking care of her little ones, showing just how wonderful a mother she is, just like her own mom. She’s very attentive and protective, ensuring that her puppies are well-fed and comfortable. It’s clear that Rumi is truly embracing her role as a mother, and it’s so heartwarming to watch her care for each of her babies.
The puppies are growing stronger every day, and they’re absolutely adorable. They look like little bear cubs with their fluffy coats and round, sweet faces. Their appetites are strong, and they’re eating well, which is contributing to their healthy growth. As we interact with them more, we’re seeing their personalities shine through. They get excited when they hear someone walking by, rushing to the side of their whelping box to see who it is. They are becoming more confident and curious, starting to explore their surroundings. Playtime is also in full swing as they engage with each other, pawing and playfully interacting with their siblings. It’s such a joy to watch them grow and develop in these early stages. That’s all for this week’s update—looking forward to seeing what week five will bring!
I will grab a group photo of the males and group photo of the females later today and have it posted by the end of day. Have a blessed Monday.
Week 5 Update
Hello, DKV family! At 5 weeks old, our litter of puppies are doing wonderfully! They are thriving and nursing well from mama Herra, and we've recently started introducing them to puppy "milkshakes," which are moistened kibble. This gradual introduction to food is going smoothly, and they are beginning to enjoy the new textures and flavors. Over the next week, we'll continue to gently transition them to more solid foods, ensuring they are well-prepared to wean off Herra and fully embrace their independence.
The pups are becoming increasingly curious and playful. They love interacting with each other and exploring their environment. Though they’re still figuring out the concept of toys, they’re starting to show interest in them, even if they don’t quite get the idea yet! Their personalities are starting to shine through as they play and discover the world around them. Overall, they are in perfect health and growing fast. Next week, we’ll provide an update when they reach 6 weeks of age!
Week 6 Update
Hello, DKV family! We’re excited to share that the litter is doing absolutely excellent! Over the past week, the puppies have really started to bloom — each one is developing beautifully, with impressive structure and overall conformation. They’re not only stunning to look at, but also full of personality!
All of the puppies are incredibly friendly and love interacting with people. We make sure to handle them often, and they truly enjoy the attention. They’ve also become much more playful with one another and are starting to have fun exploring toys — it's been such a joy to watch their little personalities continue to shine through.
We’ve begun the weaning process, and by the end of this week, they’ll be fully transitioned to a kibble diet. This will help make the adjustment smooth and easy when your puppy comes home at 8 weeks of age.
Today, Angel and I will be taking new photos of the litter. We’ll do our best to have all of the individual photos posted by the end of the day — or tomorrow at the latest. Once the photos are up, we’ll officially begin the selection process.
Thank you again for following along — we can’t wait for you to meet your new pup soon!

Week 7 Update
Hello DKV family! We can hardly believe these pups are already 7 weeks old! This litter has been nothing short of phenomenal. Each and every one of them is large, thick, absolutely stunning, and just as sweet as can be. They love being picked up, snuggled, and doted on – they’re incredibly affectionate and truly a joy to be around.
Temperament-wise, we couldn’t be happier. These babies are so mild-mannered and easygoing, making them an ideal fit for families with children or homes that already have pets. Their personalities are really beginning to shine, and we know they’re going to thrive in their forever homes.
Their final vet exams are scheduled for this Thursday. They’ll be receiving full physicals, heart checks, and fecal screenings, and each will be issued their USDA health certificate for travel.
We do still have three puppies available, so if you know of any wonderful families looking for a new companion, feel free to send them our way!
Finalized go-home documents will be emailed later this week. We are beyond proud of this litter and are already planning to repeat this pairing in the future – it’s been an absolute dream.
We can’t wait to meet everyone this weekend and send these sweet pups off with lots of love!
