BIRTH UPDATE
ELGA DELIVERED 1 MALE AND 3 FEMALES.
They are chunky, Healthy, and as sweet as can be. congratulations!

Week 1 Update

Hello DKV Family!

The first week with these newborn Rottweilers has been wonderful. All four puppies are super strong and super adorable. Nothing too exciting happens the first week. Angel pretty much lives in the puppy room the first week. He simply makes sure the babies are nursing every 2 hours. When they are not nursing, Angel makes sure they are snuggled close to mama, since they are unable to regulate their body temperature at this age. If you never saw a newborn pup, their eyes are sealed shut and their ears are also sealed closed. These will open in about two weeks. For now, we just make sure the pups are warm, nursing, and believe relieved… they can not do that on their own either. We don’t handle the pups too much this week because it’s all about keeping them healthy and strong and allowing mama to bond with her babies. Congratulations to our new Rottweiler parents!

Week 2 Update

Hello DKV Family!

Another week has gone by and your Rottweiler babies continue to grow strong. The puppies have had their tails docked and dew claws removed. Besides that, the babies are still nursing great. They are quite pros at it now and they stay pretty close to mama. With only four puppies, they all get a double serving, so they are very satisfied with that fun perk. Eyes and ears are cracking. This is so exciting. That’s all for now. See you next week, same time, same place.

Week 3 Update

Hello, DKV Family!

Your Rottweiler babies are all doing wonderful. Their beautiful eyes are open and what a joy to see these gorgeous babies! Elga is one of our best mamas, so these babies are being taken care of very well. They eat, poop, sleep, and repeat. Live is good. Enjoy!

Week 4 Update

Hello, DKV Family!

You babies are doing great. We will be offline for the next week and a half. We pray you all have a blessed Christmas and prosperous New Year! See you back here in 2023!

Week 5 Update

Hello, DKV family.

Your babies are now five weeks old. Can you believe it? Puppies grow so fast, it is unbelievable. All of the babies are doing great. Their appetites are outstanding. They have been introduced to softened kibble, and they love it. We will continue to work on getting them weaned over to hard kibble over the next three weeks. That way, when they go to their new homes, they will be eating hard kibble exclusively. We are allowing them to still nurse on mama as well, so they are very satisfied at the moment.

Like I said before, Elga is a great mother. Even with her puppies getting older, and having sharp teeth, she continues to want to love on them, nurse them, and she has so much patience with them. These babies will climb over her, chew on her ears when she is sleeping, and lay in her food bowl, and Elga does not mind. We are so proud of her.

The puppies are very curious and are beginning to love their toys. Their energy level is increasing and they are starting to baby wrestle and just do what puppies do.

Here are some new photos. Enjoy!

Week 6 Update

Hello DKV Family!

Puppies are now six weeks old, can you believe it? It seems to be going so fast on our end, but I am sure it seems slow on yours. This is the week when personalities begin to shine. Your babies are becoming confident and are starting to explore further away from mama. They are curious to smell every corner and continue to go just a little further. The puppies are playing with their toys and they are favoring the soft plush dolls and mini tugs. Energy has also doubled and they babies love to play wrestle with each other and they are really just being puppies.

This week, the litter did have their six week check-up. They all received full physicals and heart checks. The vet said they all looked great, which we love to hear. Fecal test came back negative for any worms or parasites, which is always great too. Last, they received their first puppy vaccine.

Overall, a very productive week and the puppies are growing on schedule.

Week 7 Update

Hello DKV Family!

We have made it to the end. This means, you will be holding your new baby Rottweiler in your arms in only one week! WOW.

Let’s see, the babies are all doing great. They are full of energy, very playful, very social, and just perfect babies. They are weaned off of mama and eating hard puppy kibble. When you receive your puppy at 8 weeks, you can put your puppy on a two feeding per day schedule. This means one feeding in the morning and one feeding in the evening.

By now, everything is pretty much done. All flight deliveries and pick up appointments have been scheduled. Details and time were provided in your purchase contracts. Everyone has received, signed, and returned all DKV purchase contracts. AKC registrations were submitted and you will be receiving them in your email in the next few weeks. Final vet visit is this week and all puppies will be receiving their health certificate for travel. I have even made up everyone’s document packet to provide for your records. Everything is on schedule.

I will get one last set of photos for everyone in the next day or so and post them below. After that, look forward to Saturday. That is they day we will be handing over your new bundle of joy!
